Yangtze River Direct to South America! Nanjing Port — Qiankai Port Shipping Route Opens!

At 8 a.m. on May 4, the siren along the Yangtze River coastline sounded for a long time as the Chinese vessel 'Ping An Cheng' weighed anchor and departed from the Longtan Port area of Nanjing Port, heading towards Callao Port in Peru, an important country along the jointly built 'Belt and Road' initiative. This marks the official opening of the new foreign trade route from 'Nanjing Port to Callao Port'.

With the joint support of Nanjing COSCO Shipping Logistics, a subsidiary of COSCO Shipping Logistics Supply Chain (East China) Regional Company, and COSCO Shipping Specialized Transport, a new convenient logistics channel connecting the South American market has been added to the Yangtze Golden Waterway, also creating more efficient and direct bridges for Chinese enterprises to expand into the Latin American market.

Qianhai Port is a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative jointly built by China and Peru, and it is a key node in constructing a new era Asia-Latin America land-sea corridor. The newly opened route connects the Yangtze River Delta directly to South American rivers and seas, enabling end-to-end direct transportation of goods. This not only helps Nanjing Port improve its global route network, effectively shorten transportation cycles, and reduce logistics costs for enterprises, but also significantly enhances the overseas market competitiveness of 'Made in China' products, promoting higher quality and more efficient foreign trade at the port and supporting high-quality development.
